Anonymous, circa 10th century. Medallion (Lead, 57 mm, 28.87 g, 12 h), 'Eulogia' of St. Symeon Stylites the Younger. +ЄVΛOΓIA TOV AΓIOV CVMЄ[ONOC] TOV ΘAVMATOVPΓOV ('Blessing of Saint Symeon the Miracle Worker') Nimbate half-length bust of St. Symeon the Younger, wearing monastic hood and holding book of Gospels, seated on column with two crosses at the corners, flanked by two flying angels, both holding a cross; below, on the left side of the column, Symeon’s mother Saint Martha standing right, nimbate and veiled; on the right side of the column, Symeon’s disciple Konon standing left, wearing monastic hood and nimbate, both holding cross and raising their hands in a gesture of supplication.
